The Methodist Church Ghana’s Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowship (AMMF) recorded a 28 per cent increase in revenue from its Men’s Day celebration, with proceeds rising to GH¢964,670.77 in 2026.
The increase, from GH¢752,840.73 recorded in 2024, was announced by the Connexional Chairman of the AMMF, Mr Ebenezer Anowih, at the opening of the association’s 14th Biennial Delegates Conference in Tema.
The conference is bringing delegates together to review the fellowship’s activities and consider strategic initiatives to strengthen its operations and future growth.
Mr Anowih expressed gratitude to God for enabling members to gather for the biennial event, two years after the previous conference held in Kumasi.
He said the association had also completed the review of its 2017 by-laws, with delegates formally assenting to the revised version following work by the review committee.
On infrastructure development, Mr Anowih said the fellowship was making progress on several projects, including the 40th Anniversary Pavilion at Asewase.
He said the facility had been converted into a chapel and was currently about 95 per cent complete.
The AMMF chairman said the fellowship was also pursuing strategic financial investments in the Methodist retreat and spirituality centre at Winneba, as well as the Bompata Future Life Project.
He further disclosed that the annual Easter Saturday diocesan evangelism programme continued to expand across the Methodist connection.
However, he said the fellowship needed to establish stronger statistical mechanisms to measure the programme’s impact and facilitate effective follow-up of people reached through the evangelism exercise.
Mr Anowih, whose three-year tenure as Connexional Chairman has come to an end, urged delegates to elect leaders who were candid, God-fearing and committed to servant leadership.
He said such qualities were necessary to sustain the growth and development of the association as it entered its next phase.
The biennial conference is expected to provide a platform for delegates to assess the fellowship’s achievements, address outstanding challenges and chart its strategic direction for the coming years.
