The Ministry has issued a firm rebuttal, condemning the spread of falsehoods and emphasizing the importance of truth and respect in public discussions in response to recent social media allegations questioning the professionalism of Madam Ablah Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
Describing the claims as baseless and misleading, the Ministry’s statement underscored Madam Gomashie’s longstanding dedication to advancing Ghana’s cultural and creative sectors with humility and professionalism.
“The Minister’s interactions with stakeholders and the public consistently reflect openness, respect, and a deep commitment to Ghana’s heritage,” the Ministry affirmed.
Highlighting concerns over increasing online sensationalism, the Ministry urged Ghanaians to critically assess content and reject misinformation that undermines the integrity of public officials and institutions.
The statement also called for accountability, demanding an unqualified apology from the individual responsible for the disparaging remarks, and reaffirmed the Ministry’s openness to constructive dialogue grounded in truth.
“We remain steadfast in our mission to preserve and promote Ghana’s rich tourism, culture, and creative arts, and invite the public to join us in fostering unity rather than division,” it concluded.
The Ministry’s response serves as a reminder of the challenges posed by misinformation in the digital age and the vital need for responsible communication that respects the contributions of public servants and the sectors they represent.
