Former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has taken aim at President John Dramani Mahama’s handling of Ghana’s economic challenges, accusing him of failing to provide tangible solutions and instead resorting to blame-shifting.
Speaking on the state of the economy, Dr. Amin Adam dismissed the ongoing National Economic Dialogue as an unproductive exercise, arguing that it lacks innovative ideas to address Ghana’s pressing economic issues.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we are back there, with another round of blame games and another National Economic Dialogue, and with the same ‘da da noaa’ His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, who promises to create jobs and begins by firing those who have jobs,” he remarked.
According to Dr. Amin Adam, Ghana needs decisive action and concrete policy measures to revitalize the economy rather than political rhetoric. He criticized what he described as contradictions in Mahama’s approach, questioning how the administration plans to create jobs while also dismissing workers.
“You cannot build a thriving economy by dismissing hardworking individuals and blaming others for your own shortcomings,” he stated.
His comments come amid growing debate over Ghana’s economic trajectory and the effectiveness of the current administration’s policies. As the government continues its National Economic Dialogue, questions remain about whether it will yield meaningful outcomes or simply rehash past discussions.
