African startups, tech leaders, and innovators have been handed a fresh opportunity to showcase their groundbreaking solutions on a continental stage as MOBEX Africa opens nominations for the 2025 Innovation Awards.
The prestigious programme, described as Africa’s premier recognition of digital excellence, will honour transformative technologies and innovations that are not only shaping the continent’s future but also positioning it for global competitiveness.
With 22 competitive categories across sectors such as fintech, health, education, agriculture, governance, mobile apps, and cybersecurity, the awards provide a platform for startups and innovators to gain visibility, attract investors, and build strategic partnerships.
According to Mr. Kofi Boadi, Director of Communication and Events at MOBEX Africa, the initiative is more than just a recognition scheme.
“We’re elevating the innovations shaping Africa’s technological sovereignty and global digital leadership,” he stressed.
Nominations — which are open until September 18, 2025 — are available to individuals, startups, corporates, and organisations across all 54 African countries. Eligible projects must have demonstrated measurable impact between January 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025.
Shortlisted entries will be announced in mid-September, with final judging in early October. The winners will be crowned during the MOBEX Africa Tech Expo & Innovation Conference, slated for October 7–10, 2025, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
Organisers believe the awards could become a springboard for Africa’s next generation of tech giants, offering global exposure and affirming the continent’s growing role in the digital economy.
