Michael Okyere Baafi has praised Ghanaian entrepreneurs for their resilience, innovation, and vital contributions to the country’s economic growth. Speaking on the floor of Parliament of Ghana, he highlighted the role of private enterprise in creating jobs and driving national development.
Mr. Okyere Baafi singled out Dr Nick Danso Abeam as a leading example of entrepreneurial excellence, noting his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a transformative figure in Ghana’s private sector.
He also recognized other prominent business leaders, including Ibrahim Mahama, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Dr Daniel McKorley, and the late Samuel Kwadwo Agyapong Apenteng, for exemplifying the transformative potential of Ghanaian enterprises.
Highlighting the importance of government support, Mr. Okyere Baafi urged continued efforts to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurship and innovation. He pointed to the One District One Factory (1D1F) program under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a key example of collaboration between the state and private sector to drive industrialization, sustain economic growth, and generate employment.
“As we celebrate Ghana Month, we must reaffirm our commitment to empowering Ghanaians to transform ideas into enterprises that advance national development,” he said, emphasizing that entrepreneurship remains central to the country’s progress.
This recognition underscores the critical role of Ghanaian entrepreneurs as drivers of innovation, job creation, and socio-economic transformation.
