MTN Ghana has reaffirmed the importance of collaboration in driving Ghana’s digital finance agenda after recognising outstanding FinTech partners at its 2025 FinTech Stakeholder Dinner and Awards Night held in Koforidua.
The event brought together partner banks, financial institutions, mobile money agents and service providers from the Eastern, Volta and Oti regions, underscoring the role of regional partnerships in expanding financial inclusion and service excellence.
Held under the theme “Celebrating the Power of Partnership and Service Excellence,” the ceremony assessed partner performance across key indicators including customer support, adoption levels, innovation and effective use of technology. In total, 74 partners were honoured for their contributions to the growth of MTN’s mobile financial services ecosystem.
Among the award recipients were Newton Ventures, Senetel Link Ventures, Engage Initiative, Classic B.K. Amoah Ventures and Linda Dor Enterprise, recognised for their consistency, reliability and impact within their respective markets.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Kwasi Osei Hyeaman, Acting Commercial Manager for MTN Ghana’s South-East sector, said the awards were designed not only to appreciate partners but also to motivate all ecosystem players to uphold high service standards.
He traced the evolution of Mobile Money Limited from its introduction 16 years ago as a basic money transfer and airtime purchase platform into a comprehensive financial services ecosystem.
“What began as a simple solution has become a lifestyle enabler,” Mr. Hyeaman said, noting that the company’s focus had expanded to promoting financial inclusion, improving financial literacy and supporting digital payments, savings, credit and investment services.
He expressed optimism about the future of Ghana’s FinTech industry, citing emerging policy initiatives such as digital lending frameworks, virtual assets regulation, open banking and the potential rollout of the e-cedi.
Mr. Hyeaman also welcomed government plans to establish a FinTech Growth Fund and introduce AI-powered trade data analytics to modernise revenue collection, describing them as critical steps toward strengthening innovation, transparency and sustainability in the digital economy.
He further acknowledged the Bank of Ghana for providing a supportive regulatory environment that has enabled the FinTech sector to innovate and grow.
In a similar vein, Mr. Ransford Gyan, Area Sales Manager for South-East Business at MTN Ghana, encouraged partners to continue pushing innovation boundaries and developing solutions that deepen digital financial access nationwide.
The awards night highlighted MTN Ghana’s strategy of leveraging strong partnerships to build a resilient and inclusive digital financial ecosystem across the country.
