Myst Water has joined the Accra Inter-City Marathon as the official hydration partner for this year’s race, strengthening preparations to keep more than 2,000 participants adequately hydrated throughout the event.
The marathon is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at the Trust Sports Emporium, popularly known as the Bukom Boxing Arena, with runners expected to compete in the 21-kilometre and 5-kilometre categories.
Under the partnership, Myst Water will provide hydration support along the race route, including more than 10 designated cooling centres along the 21-kilometre course.
The company will also provide water for participants at the finish point, as well as support coaches, volunteers and other officials involved in the event.
Chief Executive Officer of PNF Industries Limited, Nana Kwadwo Sarpong, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and assured the organisers that adequate water supplies would be made available throughout the competition.
He said the company was committed to ensuring that runners have access to safe and reliable hydration as they navigate the course.
Operations Manager of the Accra Inter-City Marathon, Michael Atitsogbui, thanked Myst Water for supporting the race and contributing to the welfare of participants.
The Accra Inter-City Marathon, headlined by beverage company Tampico, has grown into an annual sporting event that attracts athletes from across the country.
The race is an initiative of Medivents Consult and was established in 2022. Organisers say it has consistently attracted more than 2,000 participants in each edition.
Registration for this year’s event is currently open, with participants required to dial 32021# and pay a GH¢100 registration fee to enter either the 21-kilometre or 5-kilometre category.
With hydration now a key component of the race’s logistics, organisers expect the partnership with Myst Water to enhance the experience and safety of athletes participating in the Accra Inter-City Marathon.
