The National Sports College is set to host a five-day certificate course in Sports Law from April 13 to 17, designed to equip sports administrators, legal practitioners, and stakeholders with critical knowledge of the legal frameworks governing modern athletics.
Madam Florence Boateng explained that the program combines theoretical lectures with practical discussions led by both local and international experts. Sessions will cover foundational sports law, contract management, employment relationships, FIFA regulations, doping regulations, and proceedings at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Notable facilitators include Enam Dzakpasu on the fundamentals of sports law, Antonio Vicente on contracts and employment issues, Andre Costa on FIFA player transfers, Fraser Williamson on anti-doping, and Aakash Batra on CAS procedures. The course will conclude with a mock submission exercise, allowing participants to apply their learning in a simulated legal environment.
Director of the Sports College, Bawah Fuseini, emphasised that the program is part of NSC’s ongoing mission to professionalise sports management in Ghana and ensure adherence to international legal standards.
“This course provides a rare opportunity for local professionals to gain insights from global facilitators, strengthening the governance, compliance, and integrity of Ghanaian sports,” he said.
