Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) attacker Bradley Barcola has admitted he needs to improve his finishing as the French side prepares to face Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
The French Ligue 1 champions host the English Premier League side on Wednesday, March 11, seeking progression to the quarterfinals after a challenging start to 2026. PSG recently endured a 3-1 home defeat to AS Monaco and suffered a 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup final, highlighting inconsistencies in form.
Speaking at a pre-match press briefing, Barcola emphasised that the team’s focus is on qualification rather than revenge:
“We’re not out for revenge because this is a different period and a different competition, but we really want to win this double header. I’m creating chances, and I need to finish more of them.”
He added that confidence was not the issue, but rather the need to convert the opportunities he generates:
“At first, I thought it was a lack of confidence, but I don’t think so now because I’m creating chances. If I were luckier, I’d have more goals, but I’m working hard to improve in that respect.”
Barcola’s comments underline PSG’s determination to rebound from recent setbacks and highlight the forward’s personal commitment to increasing his goal tally in key matches.
The two-legged clash against Chelsea promises to test PSG’s attacking efficiency and could set the tone for their Champions League campaign this season.
