Former MP Ras Mubarak has cast doubt on the reliability of a recent Global InfoAnalytics poll on the NDC’s 2028 leadership race, describing it as misaligned with the realities within the party.
Speaking on Thursday following the poll’s release on the Asaase Breakfast Show, Mubarak argued that the survey’s methodology and thresholds may have produced a “self-serving narrative” that does not reflect broader party dynamics. He also noted the absence of key figures, including the Chief of Staff, as a critical oversight.
“The reality on the ground is different from what has been presented,” he said, referencing his engagements across multiple regions. Mubarak emphasized that it is too early for leadership projections, stressing that the NDC government should remain focused on fulfilling its mandate rather than internal succession politics.
He further warned that such polls could be divisive, urging party members to prioritize governance and national development. Citing separate surveys, Mubarak highlighted strong public approval ratings for the current government.
Additionally, he underscored the importance of Ghana’s involvement in global discussions on reparations for the transatlantic slave trade, calling for continued diplomatic efforts to secure international support.
