Heightened security tensions in the North East Region have compelled the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, John Asiedu Nketia, to suspend his scheduled ‘Thank You’ tour.
The decision follows a recent attack on a military escort convoy at Binduri, which left three civilians dead and raised fresh concerns about safety in the area.
The tour, planned for April 29 to April 30, was called off after security advice indicated potential risks to participants.
Sources within the party say the move is a precautionary step to protect supporters, party officials, and the Chairman himself amid the volatile situation.
The Binduri incident has intensified anxiety across parts of the region, leading to increased caution around public gatherings and political activities as authorities continue to monitor developments.
