The Sissala East Municipal Assembly has strengthened its operational capacity by procuring ten motorcycles to improve service delivery across key departments and area councils within the municipality.
The motorcycles, a mix of TVS and Aloba brands, were acquired through internally generated funds at a total cost of GH¢150,000 and distributed to selected institutions to support their field operations.
Beneficiaries include the National Youth Authority, the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, the Tumu Urban Council, Welembelle Urban Council, the Tumu Paramountcy, and the Environmental Health Office, which received five units to enhance sanitation activities across various outposts.
Speaking at a brief handing-over ceremony, Municipal Chief Executive Adamu Yakubu said the initiative is aimed at improving mobility for frontline officers, particularly in hard-to-reach communities.
He urged beneficiary departments to ensure the motorcycles are used effectively to improve service delivery and cautioned them to prioritise proper maintenance to extend their lifespan.
Mr Yakubu also encouraged the Environmental Health Office to maximise the use of the motorcycles to strengthen sanitation monitoring and enforcement across the municipality.
He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to reinvesting taxpayers’ money and internally generated revenue into projects that directly benefit residents and improve local governance services.
