Ghanaian youngster Manu Duah has attracted interest from English Championship side Stoke City, with the club reportedly monitoring the versatile defender ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 21-year-old, who currently plays for San Diego FC in Major League Soccer (MLS), has emerged as one of the promising young defenders in the league following a strong campaign.
Duah’s versatility is understood to be one of the qualities attracting Stoke City, as he is capable of operating both as a centre-back and defensive midfielder.
The Potters are keen to strengthen their squad during the ongoing summer transfer window and have reportedly identified the Ghanaian as a potential addition.
Duah joined San Diego FC after being selected as the first overall pick in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, subsequently signing a long-term contract with the club.
He has featured prominently for the MLS outfit this season, making 24 appearances across all competitions, with one goal and one assist to his name.
Black Stars recognition
His performances have also brought him into the reckoning at international level.
Duah earned his first call-up to the Ghana senior national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having been included in the squad for an international friendly against Mexico.
However, he did not join the Black Stars for the fixture after San Diego FC opted not to release him because of a congested MLS schedule.
With his performances attracting attention on both sides of the Atlantic, a move to the English Championship could represent another significant step in Duah’s developing career.
Stoke City’s reported interest could now give the Ghanaian defender an opportunity to test himself in English football if the clubs can reach an agreement during the transfer window.
