The TDC Ladies Association of Tema Development Corporation Ghana Limited has launched activities to mark its 30th anniversary, with renewed calls for stronger support for women and young girls.
The anniversary celebration, held under the theme “Connected by Purpose, Driven by Passion,” is expected to focus on women’s empowerment, mentorship and gender equality.
Speaking at the launch, TDC Board Member Barbara Ayesu urged the association to use the milestone as an opportunity to expand support for disadvantaged women.
She encouraged members to create more opportunities that would help women build independence, improve mobility and develop technical skills.
Mrs Ayesu also stressed the importance of networking among professional women, saying stronger mentorship structures could help guide young girls and vulnerable women toward success.
She called on women to remain committed to their personal growth and economic empowerment while supporting one another.
The Managing Director of TDC, Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, praised the association for its contribution to the company over the years.
According to him, women within the organisation have played an important role in improving workplace culture, encouraging innovation and helping the company achieve its goals.
“To achieve our milestones, we must continue to empower women in their pivotal roles across the company,” he said.
The President of the TDC Ladies Association, Kate Annan-Quayson, also urged members to strengthen trust within the group and resolve disagreements constructively.
She encouraged members to continue mentoring younger women and celebrating each other’s successes to inspire future generations.
The anniversary celebrations are expected to highlight the impact of the association over the last three decades while reinforcing its commitment to supporting women in the workplace and beyond.
