The Nene Korle V Wetsoyi, Divisional Head of the Tekperbiawe Clan in Ada, has publicly distanced the clan from individuals allegedly posing as landguards and causing unrest in the community.
In a statement shared with the Ghana News Agency, the office said reports indicated that between February 21 and 22, 2026, the group moved through the Korlekorpe enclave, firing gunshots and chanting war songs, generating fear and panic among residents.
The statement alleged that the impostors falsely claimed authority via a Power of Attorney from Dzetse Nene Abram Akuaku III and the Principal Stool Father, Nene Amanortey Narhnguah, while harassing individuals engaged in construction works, presenting themselves as Tekperbiawe Asafoatsemei and legitimate land guards.
Nene Korle V Wetsoyi’s office condemned the actions as “scandalous misconduct” that tarnishes the clan’s reputation. The statement reaffirmed that Nene Korle V is the sole recognised Wetsoyi, authorised by the Ada Paramountcy, Regional House of Chiefs, and National House of Chiefs to sanction any activities related to clan properties.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant, avoid dealing with unauthorized actors, and report suspicious activities to the police to ensure safety and protect the integrity of the Tekperbiawe Clan.
