The Tema Presbytery of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC) has marked a major investment in its future growth and operational efficiency with the commissioning of a newly built Office Complex and Manse at Sakumono, Accra.
Valued at GHC1.9 million and fully financed through Internally Generated Funds (IGF) and church member contributions, the one-storey building was dedicated during the 2025 Presbytery Representative Conference.
Right Reverend (Rt. Rev.) Prosper Samuel Dzormeku, Moderator of the GEC, who performed the dedication, described the project as a “significant milestone” that would bolster administrative and spiritual work across the Presbytery. He commended the leadership’s vision, describing it as a model of faith-driven development.
The new complex features ensuite offices for the Presbytery Chairman and Clerk, accounts and general offices, a conference hall, and a kitchenette. The adjoining manse provides a modern and comfortable residence for the Presbytery Chairman.
Rt. Rev. Dzormeku encouraged ministers to continue to embody leadership marked by selflessness and commitment, saying: “This achievement is a shining example of what dedication, faith, and collective effort can accomplish.”
Rev. Jedidiah Azumah, Chairman of the Tema Presbytery, expressed profound gratitude to former leaders and the congregation for their unwavering support. He noted that the facility would enhance administrative operations and allow the Presbytery to focus more deeply on its spiritual mission and expansion plans.
Special guests at the event included Rev. Samuel K.O. Attuh, the First Chairman of the Presbytery; Rev. Lawrence K.T. Ganyo, Immediate Past Chairman; Apostle Jude Hama, former Secretary General of Scripture Union Ghana; Apostle Dr. Sampson Dorkornoo, General Overseer of Living Bread Missions; and Lawyer James Enu, Member of Parliament for Tema West.
Formed ten years ago after its separation from the Accra Presbytery, Tema Presbytery now oversees 36 pastoral stations and 51 congregations, serving a growing membership base of about 23,000.
The commissioning marks not just the opening of a new facility but also a bold step into a future of greater organizational strength and spiritual impact for the GEC in Tema and beyond.
