The District Chief Executive for Adaklu District, Jerry Yao Ameko, has emphasized that peace and unity remain critical to accelerating development, urging residents to put aside differences and work together for progress.
Speaking at the sixth Afordeza festival of Adaklu Ablornu, Mr. Ameko stressed that without harmony, the district risks missing out on key development opportunities under the agenda of John Dramani Mahama.
He noted that Adaklu’s development had long been hindered by divisions, but expressed optimism that the area was now entering a new phase of growth, backed by ongoing projects including classroom blocks, roads, and accommodation for teachers and health workers.
The DCE disclosed that the Assembly, in collaboration with Governs Kwame Agbodza, is working to complete a teacher’s bungalow and provide furniture for a local kindergarten to improve learning conditions.
He also urged residents to use the Easter period as a time for reflection and renewed commitment to community development.
In a similar appeal, Mama Dzuenyeakpe III called on the youth to channel their energy into productive activities that would uplift the community, describing education as a key tool for poverty reduction.
She further appealed for the rehabilitation of the road linking Adaklu Waya to Ablornu, citing its poor condition as a major challenge to development.
Meanwhile, fundraising efforts at the event yielded GHS50,000 to support the completion of the teacher’s bungalow, with Mr. Ameko and Mr. Agbodza jointly donating GHS5,000 toward the project.
Organisers say the funds will be used to improve educational infrastructure and support the broader development agenda of the community.
