The Volta Region is seeking to move from showcasing investment opportunities to securing capital and implementing projects that will create jobs, businesses and sustainable economic growth.
This is the focus of the Volta Economic Forum 2026, held under the theme “From Opportunity Showcase to Investment Execution.”
The Forum brings together government representatives, traditional authorities, investors, financial institutions, development partners and businesses to identify practical investment opportunities across the Region.
Volta Regional Minister Hon. James Gunu highlighted opportunities in agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, tourism, aquaculture, logistics and the proposed industrial park at Adaklu. He also identified tomato processing, rice, cassava and fisheries as areas requiring increased investment.
The Forum’s investment profile identifies Central Tongu as an emerging agro-industrial belt, with opportunities in cassava starch and ethanol production, rice milling, livestock feed production, irrigation, farm mechanisation, logistics and warehousing.
Other districts have also been identified for specific investments, including mechanised farming and solar irrigation in Akatsi North, aquaculture and fish processing in Keta, and border logistics and manufacturing in Ketu South.
The Forum says its success should no longer be measured only by discussions and opportunity showcases, but by capital mobilised, businesses established, projects implemented and jobs created across the Region.
The 2026 Forum therefore seeks to establish stronger partnerships between government, the private sector, traditional authorities, investors and development partners to turn Volta’s identified economic opportunities into bankable projects and tangible investments.
