The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended six executives in the Pusiga Constituency over alleged misconduct, directing them to appear before the party’s regional disciplinary committee for further investigations.
In a letter dated February 20, 2025, and signed by Upper East Regional NPP Chairman, Anthony Namoo, Esq., the affected executives were instructed to step aside as the party probes their alleged anti-party activities.
The suspended executives include:
- Awinimi Emmanuel – Constituency Communication Officer
- Belingumse Sawuda – 2nd Vice Chairman
- Haruna Salam – Assistant Secretary
- Kazussah Jacob – Treasurer
- Salifu Ibn Adam – Elections and Research Officer
- Iddrisu Kadiri – Deputy Nasara Coordinator
Reacting to the suspension, Awinimi Emmanuel, the constituency’s Communication Officer, expressed surprise over the decision, stating that he and the others had not been officially informed of any specific wrongdoing.
“When I opened the letter, it simply said I had been suspended and that the Regional Disciplinary Committee would invite me. That is all I can say for now,” he told Citi News.
While the party has not publicly detailed the exact nature of the alleged offenses, the decision to suspend the executives signals internal tensions within the Pusiga NPP. The case now rests with the disciplinary committee, which is expected to provide further clarity in the coming days.
