The New Patriotic Party has dismissed as false a viral statement circulating on social media claiming that outspoken media personality Kevin Taylor and party communicator Ernest Owusu Bempah have been expelled from the party.
The statement, dated May 10, 2026, alleged that the two had been sanctioned over gross misconduct, anti-party activities and public attacks against the party. It also claimed the decision was taken after consultations with key party organs and cited provisions of the party’s constitution. The release was falsely attributed to the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.
But party leadership has moved swiftly to distance itself from the document, insisting no such decision has been taken. The NPP has urged members and the public to disregard the statement, describing it as fake and misleading.
