England captain Harry Kane has been crowned the 2026 Ballon d’Or winner after a prolific campaign for Bayern Munich, during which he scored 73 goals for club and country.
The 33-year-old striker’s outstanding scoring record, including 61 goals for Bayern, played a major role in his emergence as one of the leading contenders for the prestigious individual award.
Kane also helped the German giants secure the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal titles, adding team success to his remarkable individual performances.
Since joining Bayern Munich in 2023 from Tottenham Hotspur, Kane has continued to demonstrate his finishing ability, intelligent movement and creativity, establishing himself as a key figure in the club’s attack.
His reported Ballon d’Or triumph would mark a significant milestone for English football, making him the first Englishman to win the men’s award since Michael Owen in 2001.
The achievement would also represent the biggest individual honour of Kane’s career, following years of prolific performances for Tottenham, Bayern Munich and the England national team.
The ceremony took place at the London Palladium, where leading players from across the world gathered for the 70th edition of the Ballon d’Or awards.
Kane’s recognition would cap a memorable season in which his goalscoring output and contribution to Bayern’s domestic success placed him at the centre of the football world.
