Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called for renewed unity and organisational strengthening within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
He said rebuilding a strong and energised grassroots base would be essential to the party’s efforts to renew itself and position the party for the next electoral contest.
The former President made the call when the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) paid a courtesy visit to his office to formally invite him to the NPP’s 2026 National Delegates Conference.
According to a Facebook post by the NOEC Chairperson, Frederick Opare-Ansah, Nana Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in the party’s prospects for 2028 but stressed the importance of unity and renewed commitment among its members.
He said a united party with a strong organisational foundation would be critical to the NPP’s efforts to rebuild, particularly at the grassroots level.
Nana Akufo-Addo also commended the NOEC for its work towards the organisation of the National Delegates Conference and the national officers election process.
He expressed his support for the committee and assured its members of his presence at the conference.
The NOEC, in turn, thanked the former President for receiving the delegation and for the counsel and support he had offered as the party prepares for the conference and begins preparations towards the 2028 elections.
