In a powerful show of unity, all 36 assembly members of the Nandom Municipal Assembly have confirmed Mr. Anthony Ziniel as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), endorsing his nomination with a unanimous vote.
The confirmation, conducted under the supervision of the Electoral Commission, saw support from both elected representatives and government appointees—25 and 11 respectively—marking a rare moment of full consensus in local governance.
Mr. Ziniel, visibly moved by the overwhelming endorsement, extended heartfelt thanks to President John Dramani Mahama for the nomination and to the Assembly for their show of confidence. In his acceptance speech, he called for unity and collaboration across political and social lines to drive development in Nandom.
“We must rise above our differences and work as a team to promote the welfare of our people,” he urged. “Together, we can build a Municipality that truly reflects the hopes and aspirations of its residents.”
Ziniel pledged to champion President Mahama’s ‘reset agenda’ by working closely with the Assembly, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders. He also expressed his readiness to collaborate with Nandom’s Member of Parliament, Mr. Richard Kuuire, to ensure seamless coordination in delivering development projects.
With the unanimous endorsement and a call for cooperation from all sides, Mr. Ziniel begins his tenure with strong political capital and a clear mandate to lead Nandom into a new era of inclusive growth and transformation.
