Arsenal have begun exploring Julian Alvarez as a potential attacking replacement for Gabriel Martinelli, whose future at the club remains uncertain.
The Gunners are currently negotiating with Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal over a possible transfer for Martinelli, with talks reportedly making progress in recent days.
According to Sky Sports, the Brazilian winger is seriously considering a move to Saudi Arabia if the two clubs can reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
The possibility of Martinelli’s departure has prompted Arsenal to assess alternatives in the attacking department, with Atletico Madrid forward Alvarez emerging as one of the players being considered.
Alvarez, who is capable of playing through the middle or from wider attacking positions, would provide Arsenal with another versatile option in their forward line.
The Gunners are yet to make a final decision on their preferred replacement, but Alvarez’s name has entered their considerations as negotiations over Martinelli’s future continue.
For now, Martinelli remains an Arsenal player, but further progress in talks with Al Hilal could determine whether the north London club intensifies its pursuit of a replacement.
