Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, recently undertook a hands-on visit to the Ahafo Ano South West District to foster stronger partnerships between government, traditional authorities, and local communities in accelerating development efforts.
The visit was marked by meaningful engagements with traditional leaders, who received commendations for their pivotal role in maintaining peace and promoting unity—key ingredients for sustainable development. Dr. Amoakohene emphasized the value of their collaboration, describing it as instrumental in translating government policies into tangible community benefits.
In addition to discussions with district assembly staff and community members, the Regional Minister conducted site inspections of both active and stalled projects. These included infrastructure initiatives such as a community football park, water supply schemes, and improvements in education and healthcare services—all spearheaded under the leadership of District Chief Executive Mr. Abubakar Sadiq.
Recognizing the challenges still facing the district, Dr. Amoakohene stressed the importance of collective responsibility and continued dialogue among all stakeholders to ensure that development gains reach every corner of the region. “Our shared commitment to inclusive growth means no community will be left behind,” he said.
The visit underscored the government’s determination to deepen grassroots participation and nurture partnerships that drive sustainable progress across the Ashanti Region.
