As part of its centenary celebrations, the Noble Order of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall has broken ground for a state-of-the-art kindergarten facility at Ketan Roman Catholic School in Sekondi-Takoradi.
The initiative, named the “Legacy Project,” is a key component of the society’s commitment to social impact and church development, with completion set ahead of the grand centenary climax in November 2026.
The new KG block is designed as a fully gated learning environment equipped with modern amenities such as a reception, infirmary, e-learning facilities, meeting room, and child-friendly washrooms and classrooms.
Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Sir Knight Edward A. Prah, explained that Sekondi-Takoradi was chosen for the project due to the historic roots of the Order in the area, and its significance to the society’s formation and growth. “We believe that early childhood education in this environment will play a crucial role in nurturing children’s cognitive, spiritual, and moral development,” he said.
Very Reverend Fr. Francis Lemaire, representing the Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese, emphasized the importance of grounding children in strong moral and Christian values. He called on the church to take a more active role in reshaping societal ethics by instilling these principles from the earliest stages of education.
Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr. Fredrick Faustinus Faidoo, applauded the Catholic Church for its enduring contribution to education and social welfare in Ghana. He commended the Marshallan Order for using its centenary to give back meaningfully to the community.
The project marks a symbolic investment in Ghana’s educational future and reflects the broader mission of the Catholic-friendly society to uplift communities through service and faith-driven development.
