An Accra High Court has ordered the restoration of the No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel to Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited after ruling that the takeover of the property in July was unlawful.
The decision, delivered on Friday, August 21, 2026, by Justice John-Mark Nuku Alifo, effectively reverses the July 23 takeover of the hotel by Nii Amanor Dodoo and Cola Holdings Limited.
The court held that the takeover breached the rules of the Court of Appeal and consequently directed the respondents to immediately return possession of the property to Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited.
As part of the order, the respondents are required to hand over all keys and access codes to the hotel, as well as financial records, books and monies taken during the takeover.
Justice Nuku Alifo further directed that the restoration of possession be conducted under the supervision of the High Court Registrar to ensure compliance with the court’s orders.
The court also ordered that a joint inventory of the hotel, its assets and other items currently in the respondents’ possession be undertaken during the handover process.
In addition, the respondents have been given seven days to submit full financial accounts covering the period of the receivership.
The ruling brings an immediate end to the July takeover and places Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited back in possession of the No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel.
The property has been linked to business mogul Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, whose interests in the hotel have featured in the broader dispute.
The court’s latest orders are, however, subject to any further legal proceedings that may arise from the ongoing dispute over the property.
