At an MTN‑hosted webinar on “Unlocking Funding for Women Businesses,” Your Investment Friend’s Business Development Manager, Mimi Anane Appiah, stressed that digital financial tracking is a game‑changer for female‑led SMEs seeking investor backing.
“Investors look first at your ability to manage finances,” Anane Appiah noted, urging women to adopt simple accounting apps to log revenues and expenses. She highlighted that more than 85 percent of Ghana’s workforce operates informally—often without the documentation investors require.
Co‑founder Seyram Ofori Attah added that tailoring business plans to specific funders’ priorities can significantly improve success rates. Meanwhile, UNDP Partnership Officer Edem Attor encouraged women entrepreneurs to boost their online presence with consistent content showcasing their operations.
By combining digital record‑keeping, bespoke proposals, and strategic visibility, women‑owned businesses can overcome structural hurdles and compete more effectively for much‑needed funding.
