John Kwame Adu Jack, the Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central in the Bono Region, has announced plans to extend rural telephony services to six communities in the constituency by 2027, aiming to enhance connectivity and improve the standard of living for residents.
The communities set to benefit include Danyame, Antwirifo, Yawkrom, Kofikumikrom, Aboabo Number Four, and Twumkrom, along with neighboring villages such as Asunsu Number Two, Nsesreso, Dabaabi, Sromani, Chichiwere, and Manteware.
Speaking at the Dormaa Central Municipal celebration of Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary in Dormaa-Ahenkro, Mr. Jack said the initiative responds to longstanding complaints from residents about poor telecommunication networks in their areas.
He further highlighted concerns about the poor condition of key roads, including Aboabo and Pamu-Atesikrom, assuring constituents that these routes would be rehabilitated.
The MP explained that the construction of major road projects, including the Kyeremasu-Gambia and Masu-Nkrankwanta routes, as well as the Danyame-Asunsu Number One-Asunsu Number Two-Taforo Road, had been incorporated under the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure programme.
“These initiatives are part of our broader efforts to improve accessibility, connectivity, and overall development in Dormaa Central,” he said, emphasizing that both telecommunication and road upgrades would play a crucial role in boosting economic opportunities for local communities.
