Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, is set to donate essential medical equipment to the Kyebi Government Hospital on Friday, August 21, 2026, as part of efforts to support healthcare delivery in the Abuakwa South Municipality.
The intervention is aimed at complementing the work of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals by providing them with the necessary equipment and resources to improve service delivery and patient care.
According to the MP, strengthening healthcare delivery requires more than the dedication of health professionals, stressing the need to ensure that healthcare institutions are adequately resourced to meet the needs of the people.
The donation forms part of a broader commitment to supporting health institutions and addressing critical healthcare needs across the constituency.
Dr. Agyemang has also appealed to well-meaning Ghanaians, philanthropists, corporate organisations, development partners and, particularly, sons and daughters of Abuakwa South both at home and abroad to support efforts to improve healthcare in the municipality.
He said support could come in various forms, including medical equipment, infrastructure, logistics and other resources capable of making a meaningful difference in the lives of residents.
As part of a longer-term strategy, the MP is also expected to convene an Abuakwa South Health Summit in the coming months.
The summit will bring together healthcare professionals, administrators, policymakers, traditional leaders, private-sector actors and other stakeholders to assess the healthcare needs of the municipality, identify critical gaps and explore practical and sustainable solutions.
The initiative is intended to move healthcare interventions beyond isolated donations towards a more coordinated and sustainable approach to improving healthcare delivery in Abuakwa South.
Dr. Agyemang said the collective efforts of government, community leaders, private-sector organisations, development partners and individuals would be critical to building a stronger healthcare system for the people of the municipality.
The initiative, he noted, reflects a broader vision of building a healthier Abuakwa South through sustained interventions, partnerships and collective responsibility.
