Two months after the gruesome killing of immigration officer Stephen King Amoah, his family says they are unable to bury him because parts of his body remain unaccounted for.
Gathering at the Adabraka District Court on Thursday, September 4, relatives of the late officer broke their silence, insisting they will not proceed with funeral arrangements until the remains are complete.
According to a family spokesperson, checks during preparations for the burial revealed that some portions of the 38-year-old’s body were missing. “We cannot lay him to rest like this. We need his full remains,” the relative told JoyNews, urging investigators and the suspects to provide clarity.
The family lamented that the situation has deepened their pain, forcing them to delay traditional rites and prolong their mourning. They called on authorities to provide a swift and transparent explanation to enable them to give their loved one a dignified farewell.
Meanwhile, the court adjourned the case against the two suspects, Bright Aweh and Thomas Ziggah, to October 9, 2025. Prosecutors informed the court that police required more time and specialised tools to push investigations forward.
Counsel for the accused, Gordon Aboagye, sympathised with the bereaved family but urged them to remain calm as the legal process unfolds.
Amoah was reported missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate. His charred body was later discovered on July 9 at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya — a discovery that shocked the nation and left his family in anguish.
