Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has refuted claims that the government has imposed a freeze on public sector employment, assuring Ghanaians that recruitment remains active.
Addressing concerns over job availability, Dr. Forson stated unequivocally, “There is no freeze on employment,” adding that hiring would continue based on the country’s economic priorities. His clarification comes amid growing uncertainty among job seekers and public sector workers regarding the government’s hiring policies.
The Finance Minister emphasized that the government is committed to job creation, particularly for the youth, and remains focused on strengthening key sectors like health and education by ensuring an adequate workforce.
Dr. Forson’s reassurance aligns with broader economic strategies aimed at fostering growth and sustaining essential public services. His remarks, made during an interview on Accra-based Channel One TV on Wednesday, March 12, are expected to ease anxieties and restore confidence in the government’s employment policies.
