Ghana and Switzerland are set to deepen their collaboration in the health sector following a high-level meeting between the Minister for Health, Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and the Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Ms. Simone Giger.
At the meeting, held in Accra, discussions centered on advancing healthcare partnerships, with both parties stressing the importance of sustainable cooperation to strengthen Ghana’s health systems.
Ambassador Giger reaffirmed Switzerland’s interest in supporting Ghana’s health priorities, while Minister Akandoh welcomed the commitment and underscored the government’s openness to innovative partnerships that would improve healthcare access and delivery.
The engagement also highlighted the broader context of Ghana–Switzerland relations, with both sides agreeing that health cooperation remains a critical pillar of their long-standing bilateral ties.
Officials say the visit is part of ongoing efforts to identify new areas of collaboration beyond health, as the two nations continue to build on decades of diplomatic and development cooperation.
