With a fresh mandate to elevate Ghana’s investment landscape, the newly appointed Governing Board of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), chaired by Mr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu, has pledged a collaborative approach aimed at boosting the country’s appeal as a top investment destination.
In a formal meeting with GIPC staff at the Accra headquarters, Mr. Opong-Fosu emphasized that the Board’s role transcends traditional oversight. Instead, it will actively engage with management and employees to execute the government’s ambitious economic transformation agenda.
Highlighting flagship initiatives such as the Reset Agenda, the 24-Hour Economy, and the Investment Opportunity Mapping Project (IOMP), the Board Chairman outlined a vision centered on strategic coordination, innovation, and inclusive growth.
Bringing extensive experience from his tenure as Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Opong-Fosu underscored the importance of a united front among all stakeholders to attract and sustain high-quality investments that can drive national development.
GIPC’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Simon Madjie, described the Board’s first engagement as a “pivotal moment” that injects new energy and expertise into the Centre’s investment promotion efforts.
Staff members expressed confidence that the Board’s leadership will deepen collaboration and enhance the Centre’s capacity to secure impactful investments aligned with Ghana’s broader economic goals.
This renewed partnership signals a proactive phase for GIPC, where shared commitment and strategic action will be key to positioning Ghana at the forefront of global investment destinations.
