GOIL PLC has posted improved financial results for the 2025 fiscal year, recording a 7.05 percent rise in net profit even as the petroleum sector faced both global and domestic pressures.
At its 57th Annual General Meeting (AGM), the indigenous oil marketing company announced that Net Profit After Tax increased from GH¢84.70 million in 2024 to GH¢90.67 million in 2025, while Profit Before Tax stood at GH¢123.37 million.
Despite operating in a challenging environment, GOIL maintained strong revenue generation, posting gross earnings of GH¢18.55 billion for the year under review.
The company attributed its performance to improved operational efficiency and strict cost control measures, which helped offset pressures from the market. Reductions in depot and station expenses, administrative costs, and finance charges contributed significantly to strengthening profitability.
GOIL’s performance also translated into improved shareholder returns. Earnings per share rose from GH¢0.2160 in 2024 to GH¢0.2310 in 2025, while its share price nearly doubled, climbing from GH¢1.52 to GH¢2.96, reflecting increased investor confidence.
Shareholders are expected to receive a final dividend of GH¢0.060 per share, bringing total dividend payout to about GH¢23.5 million for the year.
As part of its future growth strategy, the company’s shareholders also approved a GH¢1 billion Medium-Term Note Programme. The initiative will allow GOIL to raise capital in tranches through bond issuances, subject to regulatory approvals, to support expansion, investment projects and long-term financing needs.
The company explained that the programme is designed to enhance financial flexibility and position the business for sustainable growth in a competitive energy market.
Beyond financial performance, GOIL reiterated its commitment to sustainability, emphasizing responsible environmental practices, safety standards, ethical operations, and corporate social responsibility as central to its long-term strategy.
Management said these principles will continue to guide its operations as it seeks to strengthen its market position while delivering value to stakeholders.
