Gomoa Central District has a new Chief Executive, Mr. Hackman Kobena Aidoo, following a unanimous endorsement by all 22 Assembly Members, including government appointees. The approval signals a new chapter of leadership aimed at addressing the district’s pressing developmental needs.
The endorsement, which took place in a well-attended session, was praised by Central Regional Minister, Mr. Ekow Okyere Panyin Eduamoah, who urged assembly members and staff to unite behind Mr. Aidoo to drive the President’s agenda for the district.
“Gomoa Central is in dire need of development—from roads and healthcare to education and social infrastructure,” Mr. Eduamoah stated. He revealed that a road project linking Gomoa Awomerew and Gomoa Potsin has already been awarded, adding that other infrastructure upgrades were being pursued.
Mr. Aidoo, grateful for the support from Assembly Members and constituents, pledged to work closely with all stakeholders—including traditional leaders and civil society—to transform the district into a model of progress. He emphasized that road development, healthcare delivery, and educational infrastructure would be key focus areas during his tenure.
The new DCE also expressed his commitment to collaborate with Independent MP Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus. Mr. Obeng has promised to lobby for critical road projects, including a new route from Achiase to Gomoa Manso, and appealed for urgent government attention to long-delayed roads like Gomoa Afransi to Apam Junction.
Addressing youth employment through agriculture, Mr. Obeng noted that plans are underway to involve young people in farming but emphasized the need for chiefs to release lands to make this vision a reality.
With Hackman Aidoo at the helm and strong cooperation from the Assembly and the area’s MP, Gomoa Central looks poised for a significant development push in the coming years.
