The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has extended its nonstop operations beyond ship‑side services to all major terminals at Tema and Takoradi ports.
During the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day event, Tema Port Director Tebon Zumah announced that Transit, Reefer, Golden Jubilee, and Terminal 2 will now handle cargo around the clock. This expansion—mandated by President Mahama—aims to slash vessel turnaround times and position Ghana as a leading West African maritime hub.
Zumah urged port staff to embrace innovation and digital tools to sustain seamless shorehandling and allied processes, aligning port activities with the government’s broader productivity drive. By fully transitioning to 24‑hour operations, GPHA is reinforcing its role as a critical engine of national development and trade competitiveness.
