Hohoe United FC has officially pulled out of the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League, citing perceived unfairness in the disciplinary measures taken against the club.
In a letter dated April 1, 2026, addressed to the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the club indicated that the withdrawal takes immediate effect. The decision comes amid concerns over a three-match home ban, which the club described as biased and part of systemic unfair treatment.
“This withdrawal does not mark the end of Hohoe United FC; it is a principled stand against injustice,” the letter, signed by club owner Mr. Tom Amewu-Duglu, stated. The club expressed gratitude to the GFA for past opportunities and wished the league continued success despite its exit.
Hohoe United FC emphasized that the disciplinary action prompted management to reassess its participation in the league, underscoring the club’s commitment to standing against what it perceives as inequitable treatment.
The withdrawal raises questions about the handling of disciplinary processes within the Ghana Premier League and its impact on club participation and league integrity.
