Industrial action by doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital) has been suspended following high-level mediation efforts led by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The Komfo Anokye Doctors’ Association (KADA) announced on Tuesday, June 9, that the suspension took effect at 6:00 p.m. after what it described as productive engagements involving hospital authorities, the KATH Board, and other key stakeholders.
The discussions, according to the association, focused on addressing the concerns that had triggered the industrial action, with strong commitments made toward resolving outstanding issues.
KADA said the decision was also influenced by the need to prioritise patient care and protect public health, even as members continue to push for full resolution of their grievances.
The association expressed appreciation to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, hospital leadership, and professional health bodies for their role in facilitating dialogue and easing tensions.
With the suspension in place, further negotiations are expected to continue aimed at restoring full stability and uninterrupted healthcare delivery at the facility.
