Ketu North MP Highlights Roads, Schools and Health Gains at Accountability Forum

Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Mr Eric Edem Agbana, has highlighted major improvements in roads, education, healthcare and economic support programmes during his fourth quarterly Accountability Series held at Tadzewu.

The forum, the first for 2026, formed part of the MP’s ongoing efforts to engage residents and account for government projects and interventions in the constituency.

Addressing constituents, Mr Agbana said the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure programme was already producing results in Ketu North, with major roads such as the Penyi-Tokor-Aflao stretch and the Dzodze-Avedakpa-Ho Road nearing completion.

He also disclosed that Dzodze had been selected for a dual carriageway project, with compensation processes already completed and contractors expected to finish the work within two years.

According to him, other roads including the Tadzewu-Devego-Agorve Junction road, the Dzodze-Ehi-Agbozume road and several feeder roads were also progressing through procurement stages.

On healthcare, Mr Agbana said the introduction of Free Primary Healthcare would allow residents to access treatment even without active National Health Insurance coverage.

He also highlighted the “Mahama Cares” initiative, which supports patients suffering from serious illnesses such as cancer and kidney disease, noting that a beneficiary from Ketu North had already received assistance.

The MP further announced plans to expand health infrastructure through the construction of new facilities and nurses’ quarters.

In the education sector, he said classroom projects were ongoing at Tadzewu, Fiagbedu, Tsiyinu and Kpeyiborkope, while new dormitories, classroom blocks and ICT facilities were under construction at Afife Senior High School.

Mr Agbana also revealed that more than 821 students had benefited from the Ketu North Scholarship Scheme, while over 300 computers had been distributed to schools to improve digital learning.

He added that Starlink internet services had already been installed in 15 schools, with plans to extend connectivity to all basic schools across the constituency.

On agriculture and jobs, the MP said government planned to establish Farmer Service Centres to provide mechanised farming support and employment opportunities, with one proposed for Dekpor.

He also spoke about the Ketu North Skills and Apprenticeship Programme, which currently supports 525 people and aims to reach 3,000 beneficiaries by 2028.

According to him, participants who successfully complete the programme will receive tools and equipment to help them start their own businesses.

Mr Agbana described himself as a “chief servant” of the people and said the accountability forum remained an important platform for residents to raise concerns and contribute ideas for development.

He admitted that challenges still remained in areas such as roads, water and markets but assured residents that efforts were ongoing to address them.

Some participants at the forum commended the MP for keeping in touch with constituents and expressed confidence in his commitment to deliver more development projects across Ketu North.
