President John Dramani Mahama will receive an honorary degree from South Korea’s Yonsei University in recognition of his leadership and contributions to democratic governance, public service and international cooperation.
The honour will be conferred during a ceremony scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM Korean time, which is 1:00 AM in Ghana. The event forms part of the president’s working visit to South Korea.
John Dramani Mahama is being recognised for what the university describes as his distinguished leadership and longstanding commitment to strengthening democratic governance and promoting cooperation among nations.
The university said the award also reflects the strong and enduring ties between Ghana and South Korea, particularly in areas such as education, innovation and international partnership.
Officials say the recognition underscores the shared commitment of both countries to deepen collaboration and expand opportunities through academic exchange and global cooperation.
