Following the Ayawaso East by-election, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has credited its win to careful planning, strategic campaigning, and the performance of its sitting MPs.
Deputy National Elections Director, Rashid Tanko Computer, told MyNewsGh that the party does not take any constituency for granted. “It’s about strategy and planning. You push your agenda, increase your numbers, or at least maintain them in Parliament,” he explained.
Rashid highlighted that the contribution of NDC MPs in supporting government initiatives has reinforced voter confidence. “Our MPs are doing well. They are helping the government achieve its first-year goals. The performance of the executive is linked to the support they give, and that’s why people are happy,” he said.
On the Ayawaso East results, he confirmed the party’s decisive margin, noting that the rival New Patriotic Party (NPP) did not win at any polling station. “Our data shows that we’ve won. That’s all. There’s nothing to change in the results,” he added.
The statement underscores the NDC’s focus on combining grassroots engagement with governance performance to maintain and expand its parliamentary presence.
