Mr. James Kankam, the School Improvement and Support Officer (SISO) for Nkawie Circuit, has made a passionate appeal to parents to place their children’s education above social events such as funerals and ceremonies.
Speaking at a recent PTA meeting at Nkawie Anglican Junior High School, Mr. Kankam stressed that investing in learning materials, school uniforms, and nutritious meals is crucial to boosting students’ motivation and academic success.
Highlighting the complementary role of parental support alongside government and NGO initiatives, he urged parents to lessen domestic chores assigned to children to allow more time for study and homework. His call aims to improve punctuality, attendance, and overall school performance.
The meeting also focused on preparing the 67 final-year students for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). School Headmistress, Mrs. Joanna Appiah, applauded parents for their engagement and urged them to maintain close collaboration with teachers, emphasizing the importance of shared responsibility in nurturing disciplined and responsible learners.
Together, they advocated for a united front where parents actively participate in their children’s academic journey to help shape brighter futures.
