The Oti Region has rolled out two fully equipped mobile cinema vans to boost government communication and expand public education, especially in hard-to-reach communities.
The initiative, led by Oti Regional Minister Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, is aimed at improving access to credible information on government policies, development programmes, and social interventions across the region.
The vans, handed over to the Information Services Department (ISD), come fitted with high-powered public address systems, loudspeakers, audio mixers, and dual LED screens designed to project videos, graphics, and live informational content during community outreach programmes.
Officials say the mobile units will be deployed to strengthen civic education on key national issues including health, sanitation, security, agriculture, education, environmental protection, and flagship government initiatives.
Mr Gyapong described the project as a timely response to the growing challenge of misinformation, stressing that direct community engagement remains essential for inclusive development.
He added that the vans would be strategically stationed in Dambai and Buem-Jasikan to ensure wide coverage across districts in the region.
Receiving the equipment, the Oti Regional Director of ISD, Mr Samuel Kuse, said the intervention would help close long-standing communication gaps and improve transparency in governance at the local level.
He called for stronger collaboration between government institutions, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders to maximise the impact of the initiative.
The rollout is expected to enhance public access to reliable information and deepen citizen participation in governance across the Oti Region.
