The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to hold constituency executive elections across the Eastern Region on Saturday, July 11, with **33,799 delegates** expected to vote in the exercise that will determine the party’s leadership at the constituency level for the next four years.
Voting will take place simultaneously in all **33 constituencies** from **8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.** at designated polling centres, where delegates will elect officials to oversee the party’s activities ahead of future electoral contests.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, **Nana Aduro Numapau Awuah**, Eastern Regional Deputy Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), said preparations for the polls were far advanced, with ballot papers and other election materials expected to be ready by Thursday to ensure a smooth process.
He explained that **11 constituencies** would conduct elections for all **11 executive positions**, while the remaining constituencies would elect officers for positions where contests exist, ranging from two to 10 positions.
The positions to be contested include Chairperson, First and Second Vice Chairpersons, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Organiser, Communications Officer, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser, Treasurer and Research Officer.
Nana Awuah urged all candidates and their supporters to adhere strictly to the election guidelines and channel any concerns through the appropriate electoral committees to avoid disputes.
He also appealed to the media to verify election results and other information with designated election officials before publication to ensure accuracy and maintain public confidence in the process.
The constituency elections form part of the NPP’s nationwide internal reorganisation as the party prepares to strengthen its grassroots structures ahead of the 2028 general election.
