Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has expressed confidence and readiness ahead of the Black Stars’ high-stakes FIFA World Cup Group L encounter against England on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Partey stressed that mental preparation remains key as Ghana prepares for one of its toughest tests in the tournament, noting that players must be ready to deliver whenever called upon.
“Everything is mental. You have to be ready for whatever your body can handle, and then you just give your best,” he said.
The midfielder, who missed Ghana’s opening 1-0 win over Panama due to immigration-related delays in Canada, said he has put the setback behind him and is fully focused on returning to action.
“In football, things happen that you cannot control. I’m okay now and ready to play,” he added.
His return is expected to boost the Black Stars’ midfield options as they prepare to face England in a decisive Group L fixture, with both sides level on points and chasing qualification to the next stage of the tournament hosted across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
