Authorities have arrested Madam Angela Adjei-Boateng, wife of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the immediate past Director-General of the National Signal Bureau, in connection with an ongoing investigation into organized financial crimes.
Her arrest, carried out by investigators from the Attorney-General’s Department and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), took place in a suburb of Accra around noon on Friday, March 21, 2025.
Madam Adjei-Boateng’s detention follows the arrest of her husband, Mr. Adu-Boahene, who was taken into custody at Kotoka International Airport at approximately 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Authorities have yet to specify the exact charges against the suspects, but sources indicate the arrests are part of a larger crackdown on financial crimes linked to misappropriated state funds.
Investigators are expected to ramp up their probe in the coming days to uncover the full extent of the alleged financial infractions. Law enforcement agencies are also focusing on recovering significant amounts of money reportedly lost to the state.
The arrests signal a firm stance by the government in tackling financial crimes, with further developments anticipated as the investigation unfolds.
