Former Deputy Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission, Musah Superior, has raised concerns about the internal state of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), warning that the party is struggling with disunity and waning appeal.
In a post on social media reflecting on his political future, Mr. Superior described the current state of the party as “nothing to write home about,” stressing that urgent reforms are needed from the top to restore confidence among the grassroots.
“The current state of the party is nothing to write home about. We must fix it!” he declared.
While speculation grows over whether he will contest for a national executive position, Mr. Superior made clear that his immediate priority is to support Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to secure victory in the upcoming flagbearership contest.
“My priority now is to support and work for DMB to secure a strong mandate as our 2028 flagbearer. I will announce my decision to seek or not seek for an elective role in the first week of February, 2026,” he stated.
For now, his message is less about personal ambition and more about sounding the alarm over the NPP’s internal weaknesses. By calling for a reset, Musah Superior is pushing the conversation beyond individual contests to the party’s overall survival and attractiveness as a political force.
