The Tesa Family, traditional owners of the Regimanuel land, has reaffirmed its lawful ownership and clarified that peace and stability prevail in the Regimanuel Estate area following misleading reports of unrest.
At a press conference in Accra, Numo Okoe Amartey Mensah, spokesperson for the family, dismissed claims of chaos involving land guards or military personnel, calling them baseless and false. He said the family has lawfully taken possession of portions of its land and that residents are living peacefully.
“There is absolute peace and harmony at Regimanuel Estate. The family has taken possession of its property in accordance with a valid court order, and residents continue to go about their normal activities without fear or interference,” Mensah stated.
The family’s clarification comes after recent speculation that its move to reclaim land had disrupted the community. However, residents confirmed that there have been no incidents of violence or intimidation, and that they continue to enjoy a safe and calm environment.
“Everything is peaceful. We’ve not seen any soldiers or land guards here,” one resident said. “Life is normal in the estate.”
According to the Tesa Family’s official rejoinder, the court’s 12-month stay of execution granted to Regimanuel was not a release from liability, but a gesture of equity to allow the company to negotiate in good faith and make payment for the land at its market value of approximately GH¢18 million, as determined by the Lands Commission
