The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) in the Volta Region are stepping up efforts to resolve persistent electricity challenges affecting households and businesses.
Ms Christina Jatoe-Kaleo, Volta Regional General Manager of ECG, led her management team in a courtesy visit to PURC to discuss service delivery improvements and key consumer concerns.
During the meeting, Mr Philip Agbezudor highlighted ongoing power fluctuations, especially during peak periods, and inconsistencies in billing across the ECG mobile app, SMS notifications, and printed bills.
Ms Jatoe-Kaleo pointed out that consumers could access accurate billing information through a specific feature on the ECG platform, which many users are currently unaware of.
Both institutions agreed on the importance of intensified public education to ensure consumers understand billing procedures and to enhance collaboration in protecting the interests of electricity users in the region.
